I'm incredibly excited to join Comulate as COO.
Anyone close to me knows that I love insurance. It all started at Zenefits, processing benefits enrollments by hand into the early morning hours to figure out how to build a product that automated these workflows. That experience kicked off a deep enthusiasm for all things insurance – eventually investing in and working with companies like Comulate, Noyo, Medallion, Shepherd, Stream, and more. My husband still rolls his eyes at me when at parties I inevitably end up in the corner talking shop with someone about the intricacies of the industry.
When I first invested in Comulate, it was just Jordan and Michael with a rough idea and an early prototype. These two stood out not just for their deep understanding of customers and their problems, but especially for how opinionated and intentional they were about the way they wanted to build their company. It takes opinionated founders to build a tribe that creates something truly special.
But even I, the lover of insurance that I am, could never have expected the customer love that would follow Comulate. I still remember vividly when their first customer signed. I remember the first time I watched a Comulate user – and honestly it was a first for any software I’ve seen – burst into tears because of how liberated they felt after using the product. I remember the first time they closed a Top 10 broker – the insurance equivalent of landing an F100 company.
I know this company is special because I’ve been lucky to have a front row seat for three years. As an investor, the highest conviction you can have is to join a company. When you see a strong team building a product that sparks awe in a massive market with customers who genuinely love what you've built – that's when you know. That's exactly what Comulate has achieved. At every step of the journey, I've been in awe of Jordan and Michael, the team they've built, the product that delights users while solving critical business problems, and the world-class customers whose hearts and minds they've won. Eventually, I knew I had to be a part of it!
This is one of the most exciting times to build. AI creates an opportunity to build things that couldn't exist two years ago. We're watching entire industries get reimagined, and insurance – with all its manual processes and complex workflows – is prime for transformation. The Comulate team has earned their customers' trust in a way that lets them deeply understand broker workflows – a prerequisite for building highly intuitive AI-first products that "do the work." They're not building AI-first because it's trendy; they're building it because they've lived the problems brokers face every day and have the customer relationships to truly understand where AI can deliver real value.
At Comulate, I'm excited to roll up my sleeves and help build something transformative. If the idea of applying AI to a massive, underserved market and building products that are deeply loved by customers excites you, I'd love to chat. We're hiring!
